Here is the first entry for our farm blog. We will try to keep you informed about developments here at Highfield Farm and it would be great to make links with firms and individuals who are interested in our activities.

November has seen us fine tuning our new Eta Hack 90kw biomass boiler - which now supplies all the heating requirements for our farm house and new meeting room/conference centre. Later this winter we hope to have an open day looking at all types of renewable energy so please watch this space.

The flooding over the last few days has caused us some problems - the Otter Holt that we recently built with the Topsham Beaver group has partly been washed away - we will try to rebuild it over the next few days.

Its really satisfying to be able to use our new eco friendly conference facility. We recently hosted a group of partially sighted adults from Devon Insight and made some tasty pizzas in the wood fired oven - it was a pleasure to show them around. We are also currently applying to OFGEM for the Renewable Heat Incentive on our biomass heating system - heard nothing for two weeks but in this case I hope its "no news is good news"...
